“Calm DOWN!!!!!!”

This is Joe screaming (lovingly) at his wife Sammy while canoeing yesterday at Kelly Park. They had just tipped their canoe over for the second time and Sammy was freaking out about being in the water because she can’t swim. Canoeing is something everyone should do before they get married. And when I say that, I mean the couple that is going to get married should go canoeing together. You learn so much about each other!! Joe and me had been canoeing before; me only once. So we were the “pros!” Sammy was funny and scared and hilarious to watch!! She was having fun towards the end as was Rick. Though the last hour was the hardest because by then we were all ready to get out of the canoe!!

It was an eight mile……float? We got the canoe at ten thirty and we didn’t get to the “dock” till three thirty or three forty five. It took us awhile. I was the steer-er. Interesting time. I got mad a few times. I wanted Rick to mind read the direction I wanted him to paddle, but it didn’t work. I need to work on it I guess.

We left for Kelly Park on Thursday. Got here. Set up tents and Joe had to go back and get Sammy. Rick drove him since the coolers were in our coolers and we needed more ice. So I stayed and read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I am almost done with it. Second time reading it. I haven’t read the others and I needed to read the whole series before I started the others. They got back about four hours later. I was starting to worry. They got back and we chilled and me and Rick walked around. I had realized before they got back I had walked around and I figured out that I had been here before. This is where we came with the youth group. I think I talked about this last blog.

The swimming place; the springs are closed because of the high bacteria count. So yippee skippee. We couldn’t go swimminng so that was a big downer. But we have had fun. Tonight were cooking steak, bacon, eggs, sausage. Yummy. I can’t wait. It’s starting to get a little dark so I’m going to quit because I want to go and sit next to Rick and chill. I love you ALL

“This is the story of a girl; who cried a river and drowned the whole world…….
And though she looks so sad in photographs, I absolutely love her. When she smiles!”

I don’t really know who sings this. Maybe the Cranberries? Maybe not. I have no earthly idea; or unearthly idea for that matter. I’ve been singing in my head and since it’s in my head it’s now on Xanga! Glorious xanga!

We were supposed to go camping last Thursday. Well, I thought we were. Apparently I got the dates mixed up and we aren’t going till this Thursday. Oh well, at least were still going camping, right? I’m happy. Me and Rick just set up out tent we got for our wedding. It took awhile, but I figured it would since it was the first time we’ve ever put it together. It’s really really nice!!! I can’t wait to actually put it up and sleep in it! And not be in our back yard or anything…. Since we, and when I say “we” I mean me, thought we were going camping last weekend I went and got all the groceries we were going to need last week. So, we are all set for food and I’m getting antsy! I just went and bought S’mores stuff last night. Yummy in my tummy!! I think only me and Sammy like S’mores but it really doesn’t matter to me because that leaves more to me and her!

Were going to Kelly Park. There’s some springs there or something. Joe was telling us about it. I wonder if it’s like Rainbow Springs? That was a fun trip. Cold water I remember. And Javier lost his flip flops. Remember? That was funny. Oh, and Andrew and Kyle’s brother (what was his name?) stuck the frisbees to their stomachs?!?!!? Great times.

They just opened a Chipotles across the street. I’m itching to go!! I swear I can smell the food over here! I’m gonna go now. Love you ALL

“Get funky with it……Everybody clap their hands!”

Part of the Cha Cha Slide. I made Rick dance this. Very funny stuff. Very fun time.
Our reception was Saturday and it was really nice. The week before was quite stressful and that made us both big grizzly bears but we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. The food was amazing. I keep on jumping the gun……
We woke up extremely early and started getting ready. We had to do this quietly because we had house guests sleeping on our sofa bed. So taking the dogs out was quite a challenge. Anywho…….I had to run to Target to get somethings that I couldn’t get the day before and Rick got all the computer stuff ready. He left before me to go over there because he had more to set up than I did. I headed over there at nine forty five. (It started at eleven.) I brought Rick’s suit and I forgot his tie so I ran home to get it. Once I got back I waited around for someone to come and help me get dressed. Finally Candy showed up and she helped me until we needed a third person to get me in my dress. Danielle showed up and voila my dress was on!
When I got out of the bathroom more people were there and people were showing up!! At eleven thirty we started to eat and that was fun! The food was amazing. Chicken, jambalaya(my new favorite!), pasta salad, green beans and potatoes. Yummy. I think everyone enjoyed the food.
Our first dance was ok. The DJ played the instrumental version of our song. We kept on waiting for the words to appear but they never did so we just danced. It was nice. Rick kept on telling me that maybe it was just a long introduction but I was like, no, this is it. Then we did the mother/son, father/daughter dance together. It went by fast. And then the real music began!! I told the DJ to play all the classic funny wedding stuff. We danced and danced and I know I made a food of myself. Good times.
It went by way too quickly. But afterwards all the family came back to our house and we opened our presents and that was way fun because we got a lot!!! Now, I have to write all the thank you cards…….
I’m too excited and tired still to write for now. I will more later. I love you ALL
